“Archangel 2005” Airshow will be hosted at the Tanagra air base, located approximately 64 km Northwest of Athens. Those who wish to visit the show can get to Tanagra in the following ways:

By Air

The nearest airport is the Athens International Airport , “Eleftherios Venizelos”.

Visitors can drive to the Tanagra air base, catch a taxi or use public transport means from the city of Athens .

By Sea

The nearest ports to the air base of Tanagra are the ports of Pireaus and Rafina. Again, visitors who wish to get to Tanagra from the ports of Pireaus or Rafina, have the options of driving, using taxis, or public transport from Athens .

By Rail

The Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE) will activate the railway line from Oinoi to Hellenic Aircraft Industry (HAI), during the "Archangel" 2005 airshow. Visitors will be able to reach the gates of Tanagra AB, using trains from Athens, Thessaloniki and intermediate stations to Oinoi, and from there change carriage to HAI.

By Coach

Using Public Transport

Visitors can use the Athens-Theba coach route, for the duration of the airshow, to travel from Liosion Bus Terminal to the exhibition gates.

By Car

The Tanagra air base is located 64 km Northwest of Athens, as it is shown in the map.

• On the national motorway (E75) from Athens to Lamia , 2 km after the tolls of Shimatari, on the 61 st km turn right at the second exit of Shimatari. After exiting the motorway, turn left immediately, and drive through the underpass to Shimatari. From that point, follow the signs, and the air base is just three km away.
• Two kilometers further north, on the 63rd km of the national motorway Athens-Thessalonica, turn right at the Shimatari exit. The Tanagra air base is again approximately three kilometers away.

Please note that there are no parking facilities inside the Tanagra air base. However, parking spaces close to the airport will be open to the public. Information about their exact location will be publicised in due time.
