Tanagra Airshow

The annual celebration for the Hellenic Airforce Patron Saint began with the airshow at Tanagra Air Base, from 12 to 14 of September 2008.

The event included flight demostrations and static display of most of the means and weapons of the HAF and other branches of the armed forces, as well as foreign Air Forces.

In this event, 13 foreign Air Forces participated in the static display with more than 30 fighter aircraft, trainer, transport and hellicopters.

The flight demonstration included mock dogfights and ground attack and high-value asset protection missions from Mirage 2000E/BGM, Mirage 2000-5, F-16 Blk52+, F-4, RF-4 and A7H.

  • Flight Display by Mirage 2000E/BGM, Mirage 2000-5, F-16 Blk52+,  RF-4, A-7H and T-6 aircraft.
  • Fly-bys and low level formation flights of C-130H, P-3B Orion, EMB-145H AEW&C, C-27J, C-47 Dacota aircraft, the T-6A Texan and T-2E Buckeye trainers and the anniversary colored A-7 «Tiger» and «Olympos», C-130 «Hercules», and RF-4 «Eyes».
  • Demonstration of a CSAR (Combat Search & Rescue) mission by the 31st Special Operations Squadron and Super Puma helicopters, as well as an aerial firefighting demonstration by a pair of CL-415s.
  • Static Display featuring more than 76 aircraft from 13 different countries, like the Eurofighter, M2000-5, F-16 Blk52+ and the SAAB Grippen.
