The BRE XIV was the oldest airplane in service which the unified Hellenic Air Force received. Classic French construction type of 2-seated biplane of WWI, could be used for bombing missions (Â2 type) and reconnaisence .
It entered into Greek service in November of 1917, equipping the 532 and 533 Squadrons which operated in the Macedonian front. The BRE XIV remained in service during the whole decade of 1920. From October of 1931, 7 Bre XIV were used for training purposes (observer training).
