Fairey Battle B.1

If for the British pilots in the Battle of France in 1940 the Fairey Battle B.1 bomber proved to be a death trap againt the Bf 109, for the Greek pilots represented a technological modernity in conjuction to the old Bre XIX / Po 25 , from which assumed the role of the light bombing airplane of the Air Force.

In Greece, 11 Battle were delivered in March 1940, from an order of 12 airplanes, as for the last one sunk aboad the ship that was hit by torpedo during the transport. these were given by RAF as a replacement of the 12 Blenheim IV that was confiscated.
