A new Greek Mobile Field Surgical Hospital opens in Kabul, Afghanistan (7/12/2005)
The 229th Mobile Field Surgical Hospital (MFSH) opened on 19 Aug 2005, achieving full operational capability three days later. During its 18-month deployment, the hospital will treat military patients, civilians serving in Afghanistan including members of International Organisations, non-government organisations and Afghan citizens.
The 229th MFSH has a 30 bed patient capacity as well as 2 Surgical Operating Rooms with 3 surgical teams. Read more in the latest issue of Central Command's "Coaliton Bulletin".
