Chief of HAFGS in the 71st Anniversary of the Battle of Crete   (28/5/2012)

On Sunday, 27 May 2012, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (AF) Antonios Tsantirakis, attended the commemoration ceremony for the 71st Anniversary of the Battle of Crete, that took place in Chania, Crete.

An air show by "Zeus" F-16 Solo Display Team, of the Hellenic Air Force, took place in Maleme Air Base.

The air show was attended by the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Frangoulis Frangos and the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral (HN) Kosmas Christidis and the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS), Lieutenant General (AF) Antonios Tsantirakis. Furthermore, dozens of veterans from New Zealand, UK and Australia who attended the ceremony, honoured both the fallen heroes and those who fought during the war of 1941.
