Lieutenant General Georgios Doumou

Lieutenant General Georgios Doumou is the Commander of the National Defence College.

Lieutenant General Georgios Doumou was born in Edessa in 1956.

He entered the Air Force Academy in 1974 and graduated as a Second Lieutenant in 1978.

Upon his graduation, he received his first commission at 120 Flying Training Wing/362 Squadron, as an instructor pilot in T-2/C Buckey Training Aircraft.

In 1982, he was assigned to 111 Combat Wing as an F-5E and F-16 Pilot. From 1993 to 1996 he served as an E-3A (Airborne Warning and Control System-AWACS) Pilot, as a NATO Air Base in Germany. After his return to Greece, he was positioned again to 111 Combat Wing as an F-16 Pilot.

During the last 34 years of his military career he served in many positions within the Air Force.
