Emblems and Shields

The emblem is one of the fundamental components that every Unit has, in order to retain the Hellenic Air Force history.

It consists of a representation and one dictum which is depicted on a curved triangular shield.

The emblem's depiction makes reference mainly to heroes, weapons, animals or other objects related to Hellenic history, the Air Force History or the regional history were the Unit is located.

The dictum accrues from various historical phrases praising patriotism, bravery, the spirit of sacrifice, various moral commands and living practical advice.
