1941-44 The construction of Timpaki airport started by the Germans in August 1941 and was used from 1941 to 1944 mostly for the transportation of materials, food and water, to the North Africa theater of operations.
1950-73 In 1950 an airport extension took place and it operated as an air detachment under the 126 Combat Group. Periodically until 1973, it was used for F-84F aircraft redeployments from 115 Combat Wing.
1973-79 In 1973 the works for the airport's modification to a training firing range began. The works ended in late September 1979.
1986 Since 1986, a summer resort for military and civilian personnel started to operate at the unit's facilities, which was named in 1992 as Timpaki Recreation Center.
