124 Basic Training Wing

Information about the training wing

The unit is located 2 Km NE of the city of Tripolis, at an altitude of 644 meters . It operates as a training center since August 1973 at its present location.

The mission of 124 Basic Training Wing is to provide the the HAF conscripts with basic training, as well as other personnel training.

According to the HAFGS schedule, 4 classes of conscripts join the 124 BT Wing every year.

The unit, to support training has the following facilities:

  • Premises of 40,000 sq meters
  • Training floor 90,000 sq meters
  • School building with 28 classrooms, fully equipped with modern training aids
  • Lecture theatre of 1000 seats.

Basic Training

The duration of the basic training is 35 days, with the aim of supporting conscripts to correspond to the high demands of the HAF. Modern theoretical and practical programs of basic military training are applied, which include:

Military regulations
Light weapons training
Guarding and defending HAF units and systems
Physical training
Armed – unarmed training
Combat Field training
Day and night marches
Markmanship training

Standard of living

The unit ensures a good standard of living to the trainees with the unreserved aid from the Ministry of Defence and the Air Force General Staff.

Emphasising the importance of proper and healthy diet
Concerts are hosted under the sponsorship of the Ministry and the HAFGS
