A new Greek Mobile Field Surgical Hospital opens in Kabul, Afghanistan

The 229th Mobile Field Surgical Hospital (MFSH) opened on 19 Aug 2005, achieving full operational capability three days later. During its 18-month deployment, the hospital will treat military patients, civilians serving in Afghanistan including members of International Organisations, non-government organisations and Afghan citizens.

The 229th MFSH has a 30 bed patient capacity as well as 2 Surgical Operating Rooms with 3 surgical teams. Read more in the latest issue of Central Command’s “Coaliton Bulletin“.
