31 Search & Rescue Special Operations Squadron honoured in the United Arab Emirates

On Wednesday, 9 May 2012, a seven-member team of 31 Search & Rescue Special Operations Squadron, led by Major (AF) Evanggelos Dagas, was honoured by Lieutenant General, Sheikh Saif Ahmad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for having participated in the search mission of prince Sheikh Ahmad bin Zayed Al Nahyan who lost his life in an aircraft accident in Morocco, in March 2010.

The ceremony was held in Abu Dhabi where Search & Rescue medals and commemorative diplomas were handed out. Apart from the Greek team, the respective teams of France, Spain, the USA, Morocco and the UAE were also honoured.
