On Saturday, June 16th, 2012 a Super Puma helicopter of the Hellenic Air Force (HAF), took off from 112 Combat Wing/ Elefsina Air Base in order to execute a Search and Rescue operation for a fifty five-year-old person, who was on a boat and reported missing near Monemvasia.
The helicopter spotted and recovered the missing person, ten (10) nautical miles north of Monemvasia, who was safely transferred to Elefsina Air Base.
