On Sunday, May 26th, 2013, the Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Air Force, Lieutenant General Evangelos Tournas, attended the celebrations for the 72nd Anniversary of the Battle of Crete, at Malame Air Base.
In the context of events, an airshow display was held by HAF’s F-16 Demo Team “Zeus”. The event was attended by the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Mikhail Kostarakos, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Athanassios Tselios, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Evangelos Apostolakis HN, as well as dozens of veterans from New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia along with thousands of people who honored, with their presence, the fallen and all those who fought in 1941.
