On Tuesday, July 4 2017, prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, visited the 112 Compact Wing, at the Elefsina Air Base, where he was welcomed by the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS), Lieutenant General Christos Christodoulou. The visit was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection, Nikos Toskas, the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Stuff (HNDGS), Lieutenant General Konstantinos Floros who was representing the HNDGS Chief, and the Chief of the Hellenic Fire Brigade, Lieutenant General Vasilios Kapelios.
During his visit, Mr. Tsipras was informed about the firefighting missions and the aircrafts’ condition and maintenance and talked with the unit’s flying and technical staff. He also visited the 355 Tactical Transport Squadron where he met and talked with the staff.
