Τ-2E Aircraft Abandoned in Midair
On Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 12:00, during a training flight, a T-2E aircraft crew , were forced to abandoned the aircraft due to engine failure, while being 2 nautical miles south of Kalamata Airport.
At 12:04, a Helicopter AB-205 of the Hellenic Air Force rescued the pilots, who were well in their health and transferred them to the Unit.
An investigation is underway by an Air Force Committee to figure out the source behind the engine failure.
