One of the pioneering aviators, Alexandros Karamanlakis, attempted his first flight with Bleriot aircraft from Rio Achaia to Athens, to participate in the air racing. When the crowd flooded the area there was a risk of an accident and then Karamanlakis lifted the plane violently, causing it to fall.
