Completion of the 6th Air Power Conference
On Thursday the 19th and Friday the 20th of April 2018, at the Air Base of Dhekelia, in Tatoi, the 6th Air Power Conference took place in the Amphitheater of the Ikarian School “1st Lieutenant (P) Nikolaos Sialmas”, regarding “The Strategic Value of Air Power”, initiated by the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Panos Kammenos.
During the opening of the conference, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General (P) Christos Christodoulou addressed a speech, while other speakers included, among others, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Greece, his Excellency Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt, the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe , General Sir James Everard, the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, General Michael Kostarakos (EUMC) and the Chief of the Italian Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General Enzo Vecciarelli.
Speakers of the conference addressed issues that shape the present and future of Air Power, covering a wide range of issues, ranging from security and technology – including media, cyber warfare, UAVs and space – to the role and the European Air Power Awareness.
The conference was attended by the Air Force Leadership, honorary Leaders, members of the Academic Community, Defense Attachés, Allied country Representations, and executives of the Armed Forces.
