On This Day 06/09/1928

The Air Force Bregeut 19, which was flying through the Mediterranean, arrived in Alexandria, the second stop of its route. The arrival of the Greek aviators was a historic event for the Hellenism of the Diaspora and was celebrated cheerfully amidst a sense of national pride. At the initiative of the Egyptian Greeks, the plane was named ‘HELLAS’, while other events were organized in honor of the crew.
