Participation of the Chief of HAFGS in the GACC 2024 and HAF’s Participation in the “Royal International Air Tattoo 2024” Air Show

From Wednesday, July 17 to Thursday, July 18, 2024, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS), Lieutenant General (P) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, participated in the Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference (GACC) held in London. The conference saw the participation of over 50 Chiefs from around the world.

During the conference, which focused on deterrence and interoperability to address existing and emerging threats, discussions covered the theory and practice of deterrence, the importance of integrating new technologies and artificial intelligence in Air Force, Space, and Cyber domains.

From Friday, July 19 to Saturday, July 20, 2024, the Chief, along with other participants, had the opportunity to attend the international air show “Royal International Air Tattoo” held at Fairford Airport. The Hellenic Air Force (HAF) participated in the exhibition with 2 F-16 Block 52+ Advance aircraft and 2 F-4E Phantom II aircraft. The Chief of the HAFGS visited the Greek delegation, where he conversed with the personnel involved in the event.

On the sidelines of these activities, informal discussions were held with Chiefs of friendly and allied countries, where topics of mutual operational interest and possibilities for joint training were analyzed. Additionally, the Chief of the HAFGS attended an event organized by his Canadian counterpart, Lieutenant General Eric J. Kenny, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and met with the Greek Ambassador to London, Mr. Ioannis Tsaousis.
