From Monday 12 to Tuesday 13 August 2024, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS), Lieutenant General (P) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, paid an official visit to the Republic of Cyprus, following an invitation by the Chief of the National Guard General Staff (NGGF), Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas.
During his visit, the Chief of the HAFGS, visited the headquarters of the Air Force Command, at “Andreas Papandreou” Air Base (AB), where he was welcomed by the Commander of the Command, Brigadier General (P) Christos Christou. Afterwards, he visited the General Staff of the National Guard, where, after the official welcome by the Chief of the NGGF, the two Chiefs discussed issues related to the constantly developing military cooperation between the Air Force and the National Guard.
As part of his activities, the Chief visited the 55th Combat Group, AB Pafos, where he visited the 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron. During his stay, he was briefed on the mission and the activities of the Squadron, toured the premises of AB Pafos and visited the Air Command’s Air Operations Centre. He also laid wreaths at the Tomb of Makedonitissa and the Prisoner’s Memorials, paying tribute to the fallen of the struggles of Hellenism in Cyprus.
