From Sunday, December 1, to Wednesday, December 11, 2024, the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) participated in the Multinational Advanced Tactical Airlift and Air Mobility Capabilities Exercise “TUWAIQ-4” with a C-130 aircraft and personnel from the 356th Tactical Transport Squadron of the 112th Combat Wing. The exercise took place at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.
Participants in the exercise, apart from Greece, included Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
During the exercise, missions included low-altitude formation flights, supply drops, cooperation with fighter aircraft, unmanned air vehicles and support aircraft. The goals were to practice in countering modern threats, develop strategic capabilities, exchange experiences, establish common tactics, and enhance interoperability to ensure effective cooperation in multinational environments.
The Hellenic mission achieved first place in a precision drop competition from 10,000 feet height, among other 7 aircraft. This competition involved a coordinated flight with fighter aircraft and an airborne radar system, followed by a supply drop. Additionally, the Hellenic mission secured second place among 11 aircraft in a door bundle precision drop from 500 feet height.
