From Wednesday, November 27, to Thursday, November 28, 2024, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS), Lieutenant General Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, conducted an official visit to Qatar at the invitation of his counterpart, Major General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Dosari.
The Chief of the HAFGS, visited the Qatar Air Force Headquarters, where he met with his counterpart and attended a briefing on the organization, mission, and operations of the Qatar Air Force. The two Chiefs discussed issues related to enhancing cooperation between the Air Forces of the two countries in both operational and training fields, as well as topics concerning their defense collaboration. He also met with the Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Jassim Mohammed Ahmed Al Mannai, to discuss matters of mutual interest.
As part of his activities, the Chief visited Dukhan Air Base and the Rafale Squadron, where discussions focused on the prospects for expanding and upgrading training within the framework of the military cooperation between the two countries. He then visited the Air Operation Centre Upgrade (AOC-U) located at the Base, where he was briefed on its mission, operations, and enhanced capabilities in command and control of operations. Subsequently, he visited Al Udeid Air Base, where he toured the Flight Physiology Training Center for aircrew and the F-15 Squadron. There, he participated in a formation flight of F-15 aircraft in coordination with Rafale and Typhoon jets, alongside his counterpart.
Finally, the Chief of the HAFGS concluded his activities with a tour to the facilities of Al-Zaeem Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah Air College, where he was welcomed by its Commander, Major General Salem bin Abdullah Al-Dosari. He toured the facilities and was briefed on the training programs.
Additionally, he met with the Greek Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Ioannis Ioannidis, to discuss matters of mutual interest.
