Hellenic Air Force (HAF) organizes, since 2013, its annual Air Power Conference, aiming to promote and upgrade the operational capacity of HAF, through the exchange of knowledge and the exploitation of innovative ideas.
The debate, the views exchange and the expression – exploitation of innovative ideas and solutions in today’s volatile, strategic and economic environment, aim to further enhance the operational capability and readiness of HAF.
8th Air Power Conference
On Thursday 27th and Friday 28th of April 2023, at the auditorium “First Lieutenant Nikolaos Sialmas” of the Air Force Academy at Dekeleia Air Base in Tatoi, was conducted the 8th Air Power Conference, focusing on “New Trends – Old Threats, Air Power Opportunities and Challenges”.
The Chief of HNDGS, General Konstantinos Floros declared the opening of the conference while the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Chardalias and the Chief of the HAFGS, Lieutenant General Themistoklis Bourolias, addressed greetings.
Deputy Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, Lieutenant General Aurelio Colagrande, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Spanish Air and Space Force, Lieutenant General Fernando de la Cruz, Deputy Commander of the Air Defense and Air Operations Command French Air and Space Force, Major General Thierry Gouaichault, Dean of the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies, Lieutenant General (Ret) David Deptula and Professor John Olsen, were some of the distinguished speakers who honored the conference with their attendance.
The Conference sessions were based on the security and defense challenges in the contemporary geopolitical environment, the shaping of the Air Power’s new doctrine, the opportunities – prospects of Artificial Intelligence, as well as the Industry Perspective on the Future of Air and Space Power.
The conference was attended by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, the Commandant of the Hellenic Coast Guard, the Leadership of the Hellenic Air Force, Senior Officers of the Armed Forces and Security Forces, members of the Academic Community, Defense Attachés, Distinguished Chiefs and members of the Armed Forces and Security Forces.
