On Thursday 5 and Friday 6 of February 2015, the 3rd Air Power Conference was held in the “Lieutenant Nikolaos Sialmas” auditorium of the Hellenic Air Force Academy, in Dhekelia Air Base, Tatoi.
The conference was organized by the Hellenic Air Force General Staff (HAFGS) and its aim was to promote and upgrade the operational capacity of the Hellenic Air Force (HAF), by sharing knowledge and exploiting innovative ideas.
The items examined were divided into four (4) sessions: “Air Power – Strategic Approach, Air Power – Power Multipliers, Education – Staff and Air Power, Air Power – Support”.
The opening was announced by the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Evangelos Tournas and greeting addressed the Chief of Tactical Air Force, Lieutenant General Christos Vaitsis, while speakers were members of the academic community and Officers of the Hellenic, NATO and US Armed Forces.
The conference was dedicated to the memory of the two (2) Greek Officers and nine (9) members of the French Air Force who died on duty, in the accident of January 26, 2015 in Albacete, Spain, while a minute of silence was held.
