Another loyal servant of the HAF which has locked many thousand flight hours is the Dornier Do-28. The aircraft was designed in the mid-1960s as a light and cheap personnel and cargo transport.
They were ordered in 1978 from Germany. From 1984 till 1987, 16 aircraft were delivered to 355 Tactical Transport Squadron. Originally painted in German type camouflage, they were re-painted later in “Vietnam” type camouflage, except one being used for VIP transportation which had an overall white color and blue stripes across the fuselage. The Dornier Do-28 retired from service in 2010.
