The Hurricane MkI served with the 335 Squadron since its establishment, in October 1941. Although they were the older versions of the type in service, the Hurricane MkI served intensively for a year, before it was replaced by the Hurricanes Mk II in September 1942. The airplanes were painted on the variant of the Desert and displayed Greek roundels in all positions except the upper wings, where the RAF roundels were maintained. On the sides of the fuselage the code «FG» was painted in white color before the roundel, while the distinctive letter of the aircraft followed after it, in some cases in Greek alphabet.
