The Hurricane Mk II replaced the Mk I of 335 Squadron in September 1942. In February 1943 the 336 Squadron was established, also equipped with this version of the Hurricane. The aircraft were painted in desert variant. With these Hurricanes the Greek Squadrons flew several missions, some of which over the occupied Greek territories. These aircraft were replaced by Spitfires Mk Vb and Mk Vc starting from January 1944.
