Major General Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou

Major General Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou is Director of the Air Defence Directorate of Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS).

He is responsible for active and passive Air Defence Operation’s issues, he is handling and planning National Air Defence, watch and inform the echelon for infringements and/or violations of National Airspace Flight Rules as well as Air incidents inside ATHINAI FIR /HELLAS UIR. Additionally organize the allocation of all SBAMD.

He was born in Volos.

Education

He joined the Hellenic Air Force Academy in 1987 and graduated in 1991, as a 2^nd Lieutenant.
