The Rhodes Air Force Resort’s mission is the maintenance of high level efficiency and readiness accomplished by organization, training of the Staff and the maintenance of means and equipment that are being moved there, in order to accomplish successfully air operations whenever required and in accordance with applicable plans.

At the same time, the Unit’s mission is to provide accommodation to Hellenic Air Force’s Staff accomplished by suitable organization and means.

The Rhodes Air Force Resort has twenty two (22) rooms capable to host eighty (80) persons. Each room can cover the needs of a family of four (4) members, as it has a double bed and a blunk bed and it is equipped with a Television, fridge and central air condition.

People with Special Abilities can also be accommodated as a properly configured room is available.

There is also a room for Very Important Person.

The Air Force Resort also features café-bar, restaurant and Temple and offers free wi-fi. It also organizes daily excursions to the island’s sights.


The Unit was under Italian occupation and after the incorporation of the Dodecanese in 1948, it was conferred in Hellenic Civil Aviation Authorities. It was initially operated as National Airport of Rhodes until 1977, when it was given to Hellenic Air Force.

The Unit operates in three (3) different locations:

  1. Maritsa Airport, sixteen (16) km away from Rhodes city center and hosts all the activities of the Unit.
  2. St. Fragkiskos down town where the Resort is located at.
  3. National Airport of Rhodes, where the Meteorology Service is located.

The Kalathos Airport and Landing area Katavias are also under the authority of Rhodes Air Force Resort.
