Mission

The Unit’s mission is to provide basic military training to newly recruited soldiers of Hellenic Army and Hellenic Air Force, as well as other military staff training specialization.

History

The 124 Basic Training Wing was firstly established in 1946 in Dekelia Air Base. In the same year the Wing was transferred in Araxos.

In August 1973, the Wing was transferred in Tripoli, where is located until now.

In November 2012, the Wing started operating as training center of newly recruited soldiers of all three branches of the Armed Forces.

From July 2014 until March 2018, the Wing provides basic military training to newly recruited soldiers of Hellenic Army and Hellenic Air Force.

Since March 2018, the Wing provides basic military training to newly recruited soldiers of Hellenic Air Force.

Training Support

According to the Hellenic Air Force General Staff’s schedule, every year four (4) series of conscripts join the 124 Basic Training Wing.

The Unit, in order to support the training has facilities as follows:

  • Structures of total surface 40,000 sq meters
  • Training fields of 90,000 sq meters
  • School building with 28 classrooms, fully equipped with sophisticated training aids
  • Amphitheater of 1000 seats
