Mission
HAF IT Centre’s mission is the automation of data processing to meet the computerization and information needs of the HAFGS and its subordinates, in all fields of using Computers, as well as implementation and application of IT methods in accordance with the current regulations.
Histrory
- In 1981 was established the Information Technology Center of Hellenic Air Force General Staff
- In 1986 the center was upgraded by purchasing and installing new Computer Systems.
- In 1991 the old system was upgraded by new Computer Systems.
- In 1995 the System was updated and expanded achieving duplication of capabilities and working placements.
- In 1996 the Ethernet network was installed.
- In 2001 structured cabling was installed in the Hellenic Air Force General Staff’s Military Base.
- In 2002 started using client – service application technology.
- In 2006 Web Applications were developed.
- In 2008, Dell Data Base Server was installed with Linux operating system.
- In 2008, the active equipment of the Hellenic National Joint Operations Center was upgraded.
- From 2009 to 2011 the Hellenic Air Force General Staff’s active equipment was upgraded.
