Mission
The Petroleum Distribution Command’s mission is the continuous refueling of the Armed Forces in the peace and war period.
For the success of its mission the Command possesses:
- Petroleum distribution system connected to Greek Petroleum Refineries of Aspropyrgos and Thessaloniki
- Petroleum distribution pumps on the main petroleum distribution and its Units
- Anchors
The Commands is also responsible for:
- The maintenance of the distribution system, pumps and anchors achieved from a Special Movable Team.
- The specialized training of Hellenic Air Force’s and Army’s Staff
- Technical support to Hellenic Air Force’s Units
- Fuel quality test
History
The Petroleum Distribution Command was established in Larisa in 1959 and is subordinated to Hellenic Air Force General Staff. In 1973 was transferred to its current location in Eleftherion of Larisa.
