On Monday, January 23rd 2017, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, General (I) Christos Vaitsis transferred his authority over to Lt. General (I) Christos Christodoulou at an inauguration ceremony held at the Aviator’s school at the Air Force base of Dekelias at Tatoi.
Amongst those present at the event, were the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Panos Kammenos, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Mr. Dimitrios Vitsas, State Secretary for Agricultural and Food Development, Mr. Vasilios Kokkalis, members of parliament, bishop of Ilion-Acharnon and Petroupoli, Mr. Athinagoras, the various Chiefs of the Hellenic Armed and Security Forces, the personal secretary of the Minister of National Defense, Mrs. Kalliopi Papaleonida, high ranking officials of the Hellenic Air Force (HAF), delegates representing the various branches of the Hellenic Armed and Security Forces, honorary guests of the Chiefs of the National Defense General Staff (NDGS), the HAF and the Tactical Air Force Headquarters, representatives from Veterans Associations, HAF staff and foreign delegations.
