On Monday, May 29th, 2017 at 12:25, as an exercise was being carried out by a couple of M-2000 from the 114th Combat Wing of the 332nd Squadron, the pilot from one of the aircrafts was forced to abandon his aircraft in midair, due to an engine failure, as he was flying over Southern Sporades.
At 13:30 a Super Puma helicopter belonging to the Hellenic Air Force, rescued the pilot and transferred him to the 251 General Air Force hospital.
An investigation is underway by an Air Force Committee to figure out the source behind the engine failure.
