As the operations in the Aegean Sea moved on, the need of air cover from enemy fighters became apparent and thus, in October 1917, the first british 1 ½ Strutter fighters arrived in the area. By the end of the war 6 airplanes were transferred to Greece. This type of airplane was also used later during the Asia Minor campaign, at least until March 1920. All airplanes were decommissioned in 1921.
