Mission

The mission of the Flight Ground Training Squadron is to provide standardized, quality, and efficient training, which can be theoretical, flight, and practical, to ensure the successful contribution of Flight and Technical personnel in carrying out the mission of their Unit and the Hellenic Air Force. Additionally, the Squadron’s mission includes providing theoretical and practical training to personnel of other specialties, so they are capable of performing their duties effectively.

History

On June 26, 1984, with a relevant order from the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, the Squadron for Training of Aircraft C-130, HU-16B & DO-28 was established, based at the 112 Combat Wing.

In the following years, the Squadron carried out the training of Pilots and Air Crews for all types of Aircraft and Helicopters received by the Unit.

On December 17,2020 by a relevant order of the Hellenic Airforce General Staff the new organization of the Flight Ground Training Squadron is approved, including now the theoretical and practical training of personnel of other Specialties besides Pilots and Aircrews.
