Mission

The mission of FOB Aktion is to maintain efficiency and readiness to a high standard with the appropriate organization, personnel training, and maintenance of the assets and systems provided for or redeployed in order to assume and successfully carry out Air Operations whenever required.

History

In 1958, construction of the unit’s first installation.

In 1960, the first Air Detachment was established.

In 1974, the 131 Combat Group was formed with the 344 Fighter Bomber Squadron and F-84Fs aircraft.

In 1980, operational and administrative subordination of Ioannina Air Detachment to the Unit.

In 1981, construction of the E-3A aircraft support facilities.

In 1985, completion of the construction of the facilities

In 1986, E-3 aircraft begin operations in NATO missions.

In 2015, formation from 131 Combat Group to Aktion Air Detachment.

In 2018, renamed as FOB Aktion on July, 4th.
