Mission

The 362 Air Training Squadron’s mission is to implement Advanced and Operational Phase of Flight Training Program of Hellenic Air Force’s 1st Lieutenant Officers pilots.

• Advanced Phase III: The aim of this phase is pilots to create and improve their skills in a highly demanding environment with a jet, as well as the complete development of aviation consciousness.
• Operational Phase IV: The aim of this phase is pilots to create and improve their skills, fly abilities, situation awareness and behavior in basic principles, procedures and maneuvers that come from planning and choosing suitable tactics and weapons for air operations.

History

In 1957 the 361 Aircraft Training Squadron was established in 112 Combat Wing (CW).

In 1962 the 361 Squadron was relocated in 114CW.

In 1963 the Squadron was transferred in 111CW and in 1965 was relocated back in 112CW until 1970. At that time was moved in Kalamata Air Base, where is located until now.

In 1974 was renamed to 362 Advanced Training Squadron.

In 1976 T-33A aircraft were replaced by T-2E BUCKEYE.

In March 2006 was renamed to 362 Air Training Squadron.
